Haitian Community Night: Consuming the Caribbean Talkback

Join us for Haitian Community Night at the Diamond on October 15. There will be a pre-show mixer with live music, happy hour specials and light bites in the Signature Lobby starting at 5:30pm. Immediately following the performance, stay for the Consuming the Caribbean talkback focused on the responsibility of portraying Haiti’s many layers on stage. With playwright Dominique Morisseau, Rosemonde Pierre (Haitian Cultural Exchange), Wynnie Lamour-Quansah (Haitian Creole Language Institute), Millery Polyne (NYU’s Gallatin School for Individualized Study), and Frederica Stines (McSilver Institute for Poverty, Policy and Research) and moderated by New York City Council Member Farah N. Louis. 

Black Theatre Night

5:30pm pre-show celebration with happy hour

Join us for Black Theatre Night at the Diamond on October 24. Before the show, audience members can head to Signature Lobby for drinks, bites and live tunes spun by Bad Kreyòl’s very own sound designer, Jimmy Keys aka “J. Keys”, with Dominique Morisseau. Plus, stick around for a special talkback following the performance. 

Haitian Vendor Market

Stop by Signature Lobby on October 26 for the Haitian Vendor Market, curated by Marcia Pendelton (Walk Tall Girl Productions) and Sandra Bell (Journey Agents). Audience members will be able to shop the market before and after the matinee and evening performances; enjoy live music from Sandra Bell; and enjoy coffee, snacks and cocktails at the Bar and Café.

LBGTQIA+ Community Night: Belonging and Otherness: Living as a Global Citizen

Thursday, November 7th
6pm pre-show happy hour and post-show talkback

Join us for LGBTQIA+ Community Night at the Diamond on November 7. There will be a pre-show happy hour at the bar in the Signature Lobby beginning at 6pm. Immediately following the performance, stay for the “Belonging and Otherness: Living as a Global Citizen” conversation centered around the complexities of belonging vs. otherness when navigating the challenges and privileges that come from calling two places “home.” Patrick L. Riley will moderate; panelists to be announced at a later date.
