Program Details

Who can participate?

→ Undergraduate students currently enrolled in a New York City college/university

→ Undergraduate students currently enrolled in college outside of the city, but with primary residence in The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, or Staten Island

What if I don’t meet those requirements?

→ We encourage undergraduate students not meeting this initiative’s enrollment or residence requirements to join 30 Under 35 or to access deeply discounted tickets through TodayTix Rush.

Do I have to be a theatre major?

→ Nope! We’re excited to welcome all current undergraduates to our shows.

How much are these tickets?

→ 100% free of charge!

How do you request tickets?

→ MTC sends emails to all College Student Ticket Grant members when new tickets are released for upcoming productions. These emails will contain links to a form where you can request tickets.

How many tickets can I claim?

→ Depending upon a production’s availability, you may request one or two tickets. You’ll be asked for a few performance dates which could work for your schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but please remember that there are a limited number of tickets available per performance.

How do I know if my request was accepted?

→ You’ll receive an email from an MTC staff member confirming your tickets and performance date.

Where do I get my tickets?

→ Bring your confirmation email with you, either printed or on your phone.

→ Confirmed tickets need to be picked up from the theatre’s box office no later than 30 minutes prior to curtain. Tickets not picked up by that time may be released for sale.

→ You will need to show your current, valid college ID to claim your tickets. For those whose primary residence is in NYC, but who attend college elsewhere, you will need your NYCID or New York State ID as well as your valid college ID. We will not give you tickets without the appropriate ID.

What happens after I graduate?

→ You’ll stop receiving College Student Ticket Grant emails, but you’ll be enrolled automatically into our 30 Under 35 membership. This will give you access to $30 tickets (plus fees) to our productions.

I’m on faculty and would like to bring a class. Can I use this initiative to get my students in?

→ College faculty members who want to bring their class(es) to see an MTC production should arrange a student group sale and not rely on College Student Ticket Grants. For more information, please email groupsales@mtc-nyc.org.
